I remember turning a couple onto the first Dexy's album at a party. For devotees to a particular band, they were probably the most "live and let live" types I knew. Not a Deadhead, but knew some in college. ![]() I've seen the various post-Jerry iterations, between Bob solo, Phil, collaborations, "Furthur". Rickythepenguin: Billy Liar: I just always assumed that they took them from Mexican Day of the Dead works. I've seen the various post-Jerry iterations, between Bob solo, Phil, collaborations, "Furthur", "The Dead", Ratdog, "The Other Ones" and so on, probably 50 times easy. But, I have about every 1977 show, 1973 is a favorite year, and 1990 found a resurgence that eventually kinda fizzled out but that said, there are some great 1991-1993 shows, and the last two years very hit and miss.ฤก969, the maelstrom of sound, 1971 tight as hell, and of course, 1972, which the band released as a damn near 100CD box set (the entire European tour, approx 30 shows). 82-89ish is unrepresented (largely) in my collection. There is a ton of shiatty Grateful Dead music. I can recognize any era and often nail the show itself to within a month or so. I "only" have about 300ish shows in my collection. He'd play them and it seemed like it was like 5 to 10 minutes of noodling and tuning up in between songs. I had a roommate in college that had a ton of Dead tapes. Thesharkman: I don't mind the Grateful Dead. Keep rocking out!" I thoguht that was cool as shiat - it's a bit of a deep dive into fandom, Ice Cream Kid. (I had my amp serviced a few years ago and the guy says, as I leave, "hey - I love the GD too. Which the kid promptly smashed into his head, whcih sent the crowd into hysterics. It supposedly was inspired by the artist (either Stanley Mouse or Alton Kelly), a childhood memory of a talent show, where one contestant's "talent" was like, the old time-y "hambone" dance, or just clapping, something like that, and won. ![]() The Stealie, the Skull and Roses (topic of thread), the shiatty marching bears, the terrapins, Psycle Sam, the point being the GD have a ton of logos but Ice Cream Kid is pretty low on the popularity scale. I LOVE the Ice Cream Kid logo!!!!!! I have it on my guitar amp. Billy Liar: I just always assumed that they took them from Mexican Day of the Dead works.
